Elizabeth Urich

It is with great pride that I write this letter of introduction to you as your newly appointed principal of Windsor Middle School.  I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of excellent education! I come to you from Greeley-Evans School District 6 where I have held various teaching and leadership positions over the past 16 years.  Most recently, I served as the assistant principal at Dos Rios Elementary School. I am excited and eager to partner with you to ensure our students’ success!

Along with the teachers and staff, I will work diligently to uphold the legacy of success established within Windsor Middle School by building strong relationships with you, your child(ren), and our community partners.  In an effort to support Weld RE 4’s vision of inspiring innovation and empowering success, we will continue to prioritize a culture of excellence, collaboration, and strong communication.
One of my goals is to provide a healthy, happy and safe learning environment, so students can learn as much as they can.  This has been my philosophy since I began my career in education in 2003 teaching at Cameron Elementary School. As the old African Proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Collaboration is critical in meeting the unique needs of each and every child.  I am eager to see your child(ren) through your eyes and partner with you to ensure that he/she has a personalized middle school experience.

Jim Osborn
Assistant Principal

With the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, I will embark upon my 26th year in public education.  The majority of my experience in education has been spent as an instructor at the high school level teaching Biology and Physics, and coaching. I received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from CSU and worked several years in industry before returning to the classroom and pursuing certification in secondary science instruction. The bulk of my graduate work was completed at UNC where I earned an M.A. in Educational Leadership. My wife Kristy and I reside in Berthoud and are the parents of two, Lindsey and Ben. When not attending to professional responsibilities, much of my time is spent outdoors. I enjoy water activities, hiking and traveling to new destinations.
